Enjoy the parade of samurai teams from across the nation, including ninja, armored warriors, martial arts specialists and special appearances by Western Knights in the grand opening event. The samurai has brought back to modern-day Aichi!

Field Events 
The Battle of Komaki-Nagakute Re-enactment
See the battle of Komaki-Nagakute come alive with the most realistic battle re-enactment group, Nihon Katchu Kassen No Kai (Armored Samurai Battle Association), martial arts experts and members of the public in full samurai battle armor! The actual battle was fought 432 years ago in the fields and hills near this EXPO Park. Traditional Storyteller, Nanko Kyokudo will narrate the action for this original re-enactment.

“Samurai Warlord Teams & Ninja Corps Demonstration Stage”

Samurai Warlord Teams & Ninja Corps Demonstration Stage See the great warlords from across the country including “Hattori Hanzo and the Ninjas”.
Enjoy sword fighting action, demonstrations and dance performances on the main stage.

Knights in Armor Battle

Knights in Armor Battle Japan’s only knight performance team, “Castle Tintagel”, appear in authentic European knights’ armor demonstrating German fencing and armed battle. Workshops on western armor wearing and German longsword handling will also be on offer.

Tezutsu Hanabi, Hand-Held Fireworks

Tezutsu Hanabi, Hand-Held Fireworks Originally developed as samurai signaling devices in Aichi’s Mikawa region during the Warring States period, these hand held tubes filled with gunpowder shoot hissing clouds of smoke and sparks up to 20m into the sky, before exhausting themselves with a huge bang and a flash.


Take the Meitetsu line from Central Japan International Airport to Nagoya, change into the Higashiyama  Subway line to Fujigaoka, transfer to the Linimo, get off at Ai・Chikyuhaku Kinen Koen • Take the Aichi Loop Railway to Yakusa, transfer to the Linimo, get off at Ai・Chikyuhaku Kinen Koen
