SERIOUSLY, JAPAN, WHY THE NAMES?
There’s a new club on the Nagoya scene. The oddly-named ORCA is having its grand opening tonight. Located in the same building as the brand new (and equally nonsensically-dubbed) Don Quijote, this swanky spot is up on the eleventh and twelfth floors. And as you can only reach the top via two elevators, the wait can and will be a long one (you’ll see the line on the street). However, once you make it to the top, it’ll be well worth it. ORCA is easily the most modern dance club in Nagoya, with hi-tech lighting, display screens all over and an amazing sound system that manages to pump the 2 dance floors without deafening those at the bar. There’s also a private party room on the second level which I hear has an amazing view, but which I have not had the pleasure to experience (frowny face). All in all, it’s a damn fine destination for this or any weekend. But keep in mind they are on the “real club” time schedule, which means they close at 1 AM.
