The Doubled Up Burger
The 59’s has lots and lots of burgers – everything from the “Monster Burger” (2 beef patties and 1 fried chicken patty!) to the German Frank Burger (Like it says on the tin!) But the one nearest and dearest to my heart now and forever is the “Doubled Up Burger” a burger I desperately begged them to call the “Route 69”. Alas, unlike me – these people have taste.
And so does this burger. This meaty masterpiece also has some serious swagger. Mainly this is due to a secret ingredient – slowly sautéed onions and mushrooms – which give it a distinct, salty but sweet flavor.
Taka backs this bad boy up with real American bacon, two big beefy patties, melted cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato – all perched high on a sesame seed bun. This is a big burger folks. Plus Taka says it takes a lot of time to sauté the onions just right which is exactly what he has done.
Meat: Two BIG patties. Bun: Sesame seed goodness. Sides: Tasty pink peppercorn green salad. Fries: A large portion of thin cut potatoes. Epic Win: Sautéed onions and mushrooms. Oh yeah.
