Shooters: The BBQ Blue Cheese Burger

As a kid, I was a fairly finicky eater.  If I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t eat it; I hated everything.  This is one of the many reasons I am glad I’m not that picky pain-in-the-ass anymore.

10 year old Daniel would never have tried Shooters’ BBQ Blue Cheese Burger – what with his aversion to any cheese not ‘Merican, crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes & fresh onions.  That poor, malnourished little child would have missed out on the delicious clash of tangy BBQ sauce & creamy blue cheese dressing atop a handmade 100% Australian beef patty all between grilled, melt-in-your-mouth sesame buns.

The only thing on this plate young Daniel would have enjoyed is the fries, and he ain’t wrong there!  I’ve often argued that Shooters’ curly fries are the best in town, and I have yet to encounter a challenge worthy contender!  And, as for the obligatory serving of Shooters’ delicious cole slaw?  Yeah, right!  That sniveling brat would have gone into shock at the mere mention of “slaw” be it cole or otherwise!

Yes, the BBQ Blue Cheese burger is a dish too challenging for the kid I used to be. But, that lil’ snot was a moron.  This is a burger so damn good I want to travel back in time and tell myself to man-up! Self induced backhand! SMACK!

Vital Statistics:
Meat:170 grams of Aussie beef goodness
Bun: Fresh sesame buns grilled to crispy perfection
Fries: Curly fries and coleslaw serve a 1-2 punch that will knock out any lingering hunger
Condiments: Shooters’ famous BBQ sauce on the top, heaping of Blue Cheese dressing on the side, but don’t hesitate to drown your burger in it. Lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle all come on the burger
Epic Win: The realization that a well presented juicy slab of meat can get me to psychoanalyze my entire childhood.
Dr Seuss Would… eat it anywhere with anyone at anywhen, except with Danny’s picky-arse self when he was ten!
