It’s all happening at Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens this summer – Night Zoo will return!
You can now be privy to the night-time habits of nocturnal animals, who show a very different face from the day. This is the best way to see these animals at their most active, after long, hot days of lazing in the sun. And make sure you also visit the stunning, illuminated green house in the botanical garden, which has also been selected as a National Important Cultural Property.
Other than the Night Zoo, you can also feed a variety of animals on certain days and times at Higashiyama zoo for free – what a great summer holiday idea for kids!
Monkey party anyone? Their infamous chimpanzee, Riki, will be celebrating his birthday on July 20 from 10:00 and you are invited to monkey around and join in on the festivities.
At Higashiyama Night Zoo and Botanical Gardens opening days:
8/9~ 8/10, 8/14~8/17
*Hoshigaoka entrance will close at 16:30 so you can enter from the Higashiyama Zoo entrance.
