Nagoya Port Festival Fireworks
July 18, 2016

This is the 70th year of the Nagoya Port Festival which begins around noon at the Garden Pier at Nagoya Port with a display of the technique of traditional raftsmen. Later there are drum performances, traditional Kagara shrine dancers, floats, a parade and a so-Odori dance by 1500 dancers. The big event is the huge fireworks display which begins around 19:30 and lasts for nearly an hour. The event coincides with the Ocean Day national holiday and the best viewing spots are wharves 2 and 3 in front of the Port Building or the green space south of the Nagoya Aquarium.
