The Ikeda Koen area is the closest thing we have to a red light district, full of hostess bars, massage parlors and love hotels. If you can get past the rough-looking crowd, the stench of trash and the rumors of gangland beheadings (which is easy if you’re tanked), you’ll find some of the coolest clubs in Japan, with JB the matron of the area.
A popular spot for touring DJs and on the top club lists around the world. They always manage to get a decent crowd, with a comfortable collection of hip hop and house, plus regular jazzy or rock dance music events.
And they’re usually open until the sun comes up, so it’s a one-stop party and the perfect place for a bender.
