Mark Manders
August 11 - October 23, 2016

Viewing Mark Manders’ work, it feels as if one has stepped into the private studio of a workman, and that he is either there or might come back at any time; there is a voyeuristic quality to walking through his installation, as if intruding upon someone’s private space. On first glance, the works appear to be incomplete, but a second look reveals that they are actually in various states of degradation, cracked or seemingly growing into items of furniture much like a weed. It is confusing, and almost overpowering. Definitely worth the price of admission.
