The drink: Magners Cider
The Curragh is one of my favorite places to hang out. Terry is a fantastic bartender, friendly but not annoying, and pours some of the best pints in town. His current claim is fame is that his bar is the only one in Nagoya and the surrounding area with Magners Cider on tap. He recommended it as a light, refreshing way to cool off in the summer heat; it literally tastes like 100% apple juice, which is strange, considering what it is made out of. A few pints of this would make an excellent primer before you move onto the hard and heavy stuff, Terry’s excellent collection of craft beers (Punk IPA on tap!) or his newest addition, a Welsh ale called Cwtch, pronounced… just kidding, I’m not telling. Haha!
The Curragh has one of the most legitimate pulls of Guinness in Nagoya, as well as the best price if you visit during their happy hour (until 8pm).
