Interested in having your kid instructed in Karate? Kook’s Karate which holds training sessions in Motoyama welcomes kids of all nationalities from ages 3 to 15 years of age.
The dojo is instructed by Anne and Hiroaki Shima, who are both Australian Karate Federation (AKF) qualified black belts. They were both Australian State representatives for a couple of years and entered the National Championship in Australia before founding their Japan dojo in the summer of 2014.
Kook’s Karate is Shotokan and Shito-based Karate and the instruction is mainly English. They also instruct at Nagoya International School (NIS) and Grow International Preschool.
Their training sessions include modern sports karate as well as traditional discipline karate, and a typical training session starts off with warm up (stretching, sit ups, push ups….), basic stepping, kata (sets of moves in karate) and kumite (sparring practice).
