Ichinomiya Tanabata Star Festival
July 28 - 31, 2016

The Ichinomiya Star Festival is held to show gratitude to the Yorozu-hata-toyo-akitsushi-hime-no-mikoto, Hatori Shrine’s god of textiles, and pray for prosperity in this area; Ichinomiya’s leading industry. The extravagant decorations make it one of the three big Tanabata festivals. Highlights include a 500-meter long procession to dedicate an offering of locally-produced woolen textiles, a Jinrikisha (rickshaw) procession and a Bon dance.
