This Sunday, April 29, be sure to head to the Plastic Factory in Imaike for the monthly Open Mic and Art Space event, Harmonium Parlour! Performers, sign-up begins at 6:50pm. With Monday being a day off, we’re expecting a good one…..
This Sunday they’ve got their friends Saddle and Stiv in the upstairs gallery with their AssMazing Exhibition of all things nutty and neat. DJ Toru will be spinning his old skool vinyl between sets, and Heinz and company will be serving up drinks and keeping candles lit all night.
Semi-On will be playing around 8:30, and there will be live acts all night from 7pm until last train (we heard Tomo Shagger’s turning up to take us on his funky train ride as well…) Big band sounds welcome until 10:30, when they turn a little more acoustic because of neighborhood noise restrictions.
And something great in addition to all this – Kansai Music Conference organizer and promoter, Duane Levi, will be at Plastic Factory from 6:00pm to give a presentation about performance opportunities in the Kansai region This is a fantastic opportunity for both Japanese and foreign artists to hear about places to play, and how to play there, from the man who books the venues. He’ll be sticking around to see folks play at HP as well, so please make sure you buy him a drink and drop him your demo CD…..
￥1000 gets you in the door with a free drink to attend the evening’s events: Duane’s presentation, Stiv and Saddle’s exhibition, and the Open Mic stage. And it’s meant to be 26C and sunny all day….. What a Sunday!! You’ve got all day Monday to recover !
