Death, Poison and Revenge!

Hamlet hits the stage May 11 to May 13th

To be or not to be.  To thine own self be true. Brevity is the soul of wit. Even if you aren’t familiar with the plot of Hamlet, you probably are with the many iconic phrases that we have derived from it. Its size and scope can make the Bard’s work seem intimidating, however this very fact is one of the main reasons we chose it as our main stage production in 2012.

We knew we would need the talents of a large group of people coming together to bring one of theatre’s greatest tragedies successfully to the stage: everyone from musicians and actors, to set designers and costumers.  In this way, Hamlet was the perfect show to help us develop our vision for Nameless Theatre—-to create a true community theatre group and creative international environment where talent can not only develop, but also begin.

As the director, one of the most exciting elements of putting this show together was working with the enthusiasm of both the experienced members of the Nagoya theatre community AND those completely new to the stage.  In addition to the onstage work of actors, we are also working with new members behind the scenes (where the real action always is). Backstage work is a crucial aspect of mounting a successful show, and we rely on our crew to help us get the real work done.
Even if the thought has never occurred to you before, if you’re reading this and have ever had the desire to get creative and make something, design something, direct something, or act out something, we hope you’ll get in touch, join our team, and help us put on a show. We have some exciting things lined up for next season and we need your help to make it happen.

Oh, and don’t forget to come to the show.
